Summary

Phosphorylation of eukaryotic translation factor 4E (eIF4E) significantly increases in Alzheimer's disease, correlating with tau pathology. This suggests eIF4E phosphorylation is involved in neurofibrillary changes characteristic of Alzheimer's disease.
