Summary

Short-term placental hypoxia does not reduce human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-G expression in extravillous cytotrophoblasts. Increased HLA-G mRNA levels were observed under low oxygen conditions, suggesting hypoxia is not the cause of decreased HLA-G in pre-eclampsia.
