Tinnitus related to eyelid blinking.

Summary

This study presents the first reported case of bilateral tinnitus linked to eyelid blinking. This rare muscular tinnitus differs from previously documented unilateral cases.

Background:

Tinnitus, or ringing in the ears, can rarely stem from muscular issues.
Palatal myoclonus is the most frequent muscular cause of tinnitus.
Investigating atypical muscular etiologies of tinnitus is crucial for diagnosis.

Observation:

A unique case of bilateral tinnitus associated with eyelid blinking is detailed.
This presentation marks the first reported instance of bilateral tinnitus linked to this specific muscular activity.
Unlike prior unilateral cases, this patient experienced symptoms on both sides.

Findings:

The presented case is the first documented instance of bilateral tinnitus caused by eyelid blinking.
This finding expands the known spectrum of muscularly induced tinnitus.
The etiology appears distinct from previously reported cases linked to VII nerve palsy recovery.
