    Background:

    • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are widely used for pain and inflammation.
    • Oxamethacin and indomethacin are NSAIDs with established therapeutic profiles.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To compare the analgesic and anti-inflammatory efficacy of oxamethacin and indomethacin.
    • To assess and compare the side-effect profiles of oxamethacin and indomethacin.
    • To evaluate treatment interruption rates due to adverse events for both drugs.

    Main Methods:

    • A randomized clinical trial involving 525 general practice patients.
    • Patients received either oxamethacin (100 mg twice daily) or indomethacin (50 mg twice daily).
