Abstract:
Pharmacokinetic and dynamic alterations, the appearance of multiple illnesses which are treated with polypharmacy and, possibly as a consequence of polypharmacy, impaired compliance with drug therapy are associated with a higher incidence of drug-drug interactions and adverse drug reactions in geriatric patients. The most important among these alterations are discussed and possible solutions are presented.
