The wireless and paperless E.R.: an economical and ergonomic approach

An approach is presented to achieve a wireless and paperless recording of acquired patient data and other administrative tasks such as prescription of x-rays and laboratory tests in an emergency room in an ergonomic and economic way by means of the use of bar code technology, which is linked to the existing hospital informatics systems.
