Summary

Pouchitis, an inflammation of the ileal pouch-anal anastomosis, was studied in ulcerative colitis (UC) and familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) patients. Endoscopic and histological findings often indicated pouchitis, even without clear clinical symptoms, necessitating ongoing monitoring.
