Background:

Bronchial obstruction, caused by cancer or broncholith, leads to pulmonary consolidation.
Chest radiography often shows nonspecific findings in these cases.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the utility of computed tomography (CT) in diagnosing bronchial obstruction.
To compare CT findings with chest radiography in patients with postobstructive consolidation.

Main Methods:

Twelve patients with bronchial obstruction were assessed using chest radiography and CT.
Specific CT findings, including air bronchogram, CT angiogram sign, bulging fissure, and fluid bronchogram, were analyzed.

Chest radiography revealed lobar consolidation (12/12), bulging fissure (6/12), and air bronchogram (1/12).
