Abstract:
Melanoma rates are increasing at an alarming rate, with 1 in 70 Americans developing melanoma annually. This session offered information for oncology nursing professionals to use in their day-to-day practice about the staging, treatment, symptom management, education, and care of patients with melanoma. Side effects of melanoma and its treatments were covered, including fatigue, depression, anorexia, and pruritus, among others.
