Summary

Local inhibition of prostaglandin formation using intravaginal naproxen sodium effectively prolonged pregnancy in most patients experiencing preterm labor. This preliminary study found no adverse effects in mothers or fetuses, suggesting a potential new treatment for preterm birth.
