Summary

Mast cell chymase activity in tears is significantly elevated in patients with vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC). This chymase activity directly correlates with VKC disease severity, suggesting its potential as a diagnostic marker.

Background:

  • Vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC) is a severe allergic eye disease.
