  • Wave Phenomena

Background:

  • Laguerre-Gaussian beams are fundamental solutions in optical beam propagation.
  • Describing nonparaxial beam behavior is crucial for high-intensity applications.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To introduce a higher-order complex source for generating elegant Laguerre-Gaussian waves.
  • To derive representations and nonparaxial corrections for these waves.

Main Methods:

  • Derivation of integral and differential representations for elegant Laguerre-Gaussian waves.
  • Analysis of the spectral representation to determine nonparaxial corrections.

Main Results:

  • A higher-order complex source generating elegant Laguerre-Gaussian waves (radial mode n, angular mode m) is introduced.
