Background:

Purpose of the Study:
- To investigate the hypothesis that elevated CC EMG activity and muscle tone contribute to ED.

- EMG recordings of the CC were performed in 59 ED patients and 15 healthy volunteers.

- The condition, termed 'overactive CC,' should be considered in ED diagnosis.
- Further research into the pathogenesis of CC hypertonicity is warranted.
