Transient leukemia in newborns with Down syndrome

Transient leukemia (TL) in newborns with Down syndrome (DS) is a unique clonal proliferation of megakaryocytic cells. While many cases remit spontaneously, some infants face severe illness or develop fatal leukemia later.
