Summary

Dialysate calcium concentration in hemodialysis should be individualized. A concentration of 3.0 mEq/L is often preferred, while 2.5 mEq/L may suit hypercalcemic patients. Long-term safety of lower concentrations for adynamic bone disease needs study.
