Summary

Birth weight (BWB) is the best predictor of preweaning piglet mortality, outperforming placental efficiency (PLEFF) and placental weight (PLW). While PLEFF is complex, BWB offers a simpler, more reliable measure for assessing neonatal piglet survival risks.
