[Atypical findings in lumbar discography (author's transl)]

Lumbar discography is a good supplement to myelography in the evaluation of low back pain and sciatica. Knowledge of both typical and atypical findings helps to avoid false positive and negative diagnoses. On the other hand atypical findings may show up pathological processes, elsewhere only seen by pathological anatomy. In some cases a relation between these phenomena and clinical symptoms is found.
