Hepatic encephalopathy can cause stroke-like symptoms, such as unilateral weakness, a previously undescribed neurological deficit. Prompt treatment of liver dysfunction and rehabilitation resolved these symptoms, highlighting the importance of assessing liver function in stroke mimics.
