Medical group practices--especially primary care physicians (PCPs)--are seeing more patients, working longer hours, and implementing cost containment measures to offset steadily rising operating costs and maintain their incomes, according to data from three new surveys. Despite these tactics, 2003 was the third consecutive year that increases in production outpaced increases in compensation.
