Seprafilm may ease colostomy reversal

Summary
This study found that using Seprafilm, a sodium hyaluronate and carboxy-methylcellulose-based antiadhesive membrane, during Hartmann colostomy surgery significantly reduced intra-abdominal adhesions in rats. Application beneath the laparotomy incision was sufficient to achieve this effect.
