Objective:
To observe the effect of Lycopene (LP) on the oxidative damage of lung induced by exposing ozone.
Methods:
The injury model of lung was induced by exposing ozone. The xanthines oxidize method and TBA was used to determine SOD, MDA and GSH-Px in serum and lung respectively.
Results:
Compared with model rats, SOD and GSH-Px in the group of LP administrated were increased and MDA were decreased significantly (P < 0.05).
Conclusion:
it was showed that LP could protect oxidative damage of lung induced by ozone in rats.
