Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of performing simultaneous bilateral percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in a single session for pediatric patients.
  • To assess the feasibility of this combined approach in children with bilateral kidney stones.

  • Thirteen pediatric patients (mean age 8 years) underwent simultaneous bilateral PCNL under general anesthesia.
  • Utilized adult-sized nephroscopes and ultrasonic disintegration for stone removal; some cases included endopylotomy or cystolithotomy.
