Summary

Since the 2001 anthrax attacks, research has revealed how anthrax toxin interacts with its cellular receptors, capillary morphogenesis protein 2 (CMG2) and anthrax toxin receptor/tumor endothelial marker 8 (ATR/TEM8). Studies are uncovering the molecular details of these interactions and a new toxin entry pathway.
