Background:

  • Brucellosis remains a significant public health concern in Mediterranean regions, often underdiagnosed.
  • Extradural brucellar granuloma is a rare complication of Brucellosis.

Observation:

  • Two cases of spinal cord compression caused by extradural brucellar granuloma in the thoracic and cervical regions were identified.
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was used for diagnosis.

Findings:

  • Surgical excision of the abscesses was performed.
  • Medical treatment was initiated promptly, but delayed neurosurgical intervention impacted patient outcomes.
  • One patient achieved complete neurological recovery, while the other had partial recovery.
