Summary

Tuberculosis, caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis, is re-emerging globally due to antibiotic resistance and other factors. Controlling this zoonotic disease requires coordinated human and animal health strategies and improved diagnostics and vaccines.
