Summary

Scrotal lymphedema, also known as scrotal elephantiasis, is a rare condition. This case study details a young man with idiopathic scrotal lymphedema successfully treated with surgery.

  • All potential acquired causes of lymphedema were systematically excluded.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with idiopathic scrotal lymphedema.
  • Surgical intervention involving scrotectomy and scrotal reconstruction was performed.

Implications:

  • This case highlights the possibility of idiopathic scrotal lymphedema in younger individuals.
  • Surgical management can be effective for treating severe, isolated scrotal lymphedema.
  • Further research into the etiology of idiopathic lymphedema is warranted.
