This case study details a rare fatal complication of Behçet disease presenting as diffuse alveolar damage in the lungs. The condition showed progressive ground-glass opacities on imaging, confirmed by biopsy.

  • Chest imaging revealed diffuse ground-glass attenuation in both lungs.
  • Open lung biopsy was performed for diagnosis.

Findings:

  • Histopathology confirmed diffuse alveolar damage as the cause of lung abnormalities.
  • No specific etiology for the diffuse alveolar damage was identified.
  • The patient's condition was ultimately fatal.
