  • Patient 2 developed diabetes insipidus, hyperparathyroidism (parathyroid adenoma), hypothyroidism, and sick-sinus syndrome.

Implications:

  • This case series highlights the potential for severe, multi-systemic side effects from prolonged lithium treatment.
  • Emphasizes the critical need for specialized psychiatric monitoring to prevent and manage lithium toxicity effectively.
