Peripheral vascular disease and serum phosphorus in hemodialysis: a nested case-control study

Elevated serum phosphorus (P) is a significant risk factor for peripheral vascular disease (PVD) in hemodialysis patients. This finding supports P and calcium x P (Ca x P) in PVD development.
