Counselling plays an important role in different fields of activities within different professions. This study of the "Institut für Medizin-/Pflegepädagogik und Pflegewissenchaft am Zentrum für Human- und Gesundheitswissenschaften der Berliner Hochschulmedizin" has tried to identifiy determining characteristics of "counselling" within different disciplines and to analyse their transferability into the discipline of nursing. In the course of the investigation it appeared that some basic elements of counselling play a certain rolefor nursing. Nevertheless no profound concept for "counselling" exists yet.
