Abstract:
Recently new drugs with mixed action on estrogen receptors have become available on the market. In some tissues they act like agonists, in others like antagonists of estrogen receptors. The drugs are called selective estrogen receptor modulators--SERMs. Basing on the world literature this article discusses the latest views on the mechanism of SERMs' action and their influence on the bone, the breast, the female reproductive organ and metabolism.
