Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is a type of cancer that occurs when there is an abnormal growth of skin cells, usually triggered by damage to the DNA within the skin cells. It is primarily caused by exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun or artificial sources like tanning beds. Summary

Skin-sparing mastectomy is a new procedure in Malaysia, rarely offered due to limited surgeon awareness. This case report shows its feasibility and comparable outcomes in a Malaysian patient.

Skin-sparing mastectomy (SSM) adoption is limited in Malaysia.
Conventional mastectomy is more commonly performed by general surgeons.

Observation:

This case report details the successful application of skin-sparing mastectomy in a Malaysian patient.
The procedure was performed by a general surgeon, highlighting feasibility.

Findings:

The Malaysian patient achieved outcomes comparable to those reported in Western countries.
Demonstrates the potential for successful SSM implementation in diverse healthcare settings.
