[Incomplete urethral duplication in a male. A case report]

Background:

• Urethral duplication is a rare congenital anomaly primarily affecting males.
• Diagnosis typically occurs during pediatric age, making adult presentation unusual.

Observation:

• A 20-year-old male presented with a double urethral meatus and a double urinary stream.
• Physical examination revealed an additional hypospadic meatus inferior to a normally positioned meatus.

Findings:

• Retrograde urethro-cystography and voiding cysto-urethrograms confirmed two distinct urethras originating from a common bladder neck.
• The patient was diagnosed with Effmann type IIA2 incomplete urethral duplication.

Implications:

• This case highlights the possibility of late diagnosis for urethral duplication.
• Management should involve thorough investigation for associated anomalies.
• Conservative management may be appropriate in the absence of complications or other anomalies.
