Summary

Kaposi sarcoma, a reticuloendothelial system tumor, requires aggressive treatment when localized to the penis. Surgical excision or radiation effectively treats this penile cancer, preventing widespread organ involvement.

Background:

  • Non-epidemic Kaposi sarcoma localized to the penis warrants aggressive treatment due to rare association with diffuse organ involvement.

Observation:

  • A 53-year-old male presented with a papular, indolent lesion on the glans penis.
  • The lesion was surgically excised.

Findings:

  • Histopathological examination confirmed the excised lesion as Kaposi sarcoma.
  • Localized penile Kaposi sarcoma was successfully treated with surgical excision.

Implications:

  • Early and aggressive treatment of localized penile Kaposi sarcoma is crucial.
