Autoimmune-mediated sympathetic hearing loss: a case report.

Summary
Sympathetic hearing loss, contralateral sensorineural hearing loss in one ear following damage to the other, may be caused by organospecific autoimmunity. This study found autoantibodies targeting cochlear outer hair cells in a patient with this condition.
