Summary

Pseudotumoral hepatic tuberculomas, a rare form of tuberculosis, can mimic liver tumors. Early diagnosis and treatment with standard tuberculostatic chemotherapy are crucial for successful outcomes in patients presenting with focal liver lesions.

Observation:

  • A 57-year-old woman presented with fatigue, night sweats, and abdominal pain, exhibiting hepatomegaly and anemia.
  • Ultrasonography revealed multiple hypoechoic liver nodules and enlarged pancreatic lymph nodes.
  • Biopsies confirmed granulomas with caseous necrosis and Langhans' giant cells, indicative of hepatic and peritoneal tuberculosis.

Findings:

  • Histopathological examination confirmed hepatic and peritoneal tuberculosis.
  • The patient received 12 months of standard tuberculostatic chemotherapy (isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide).
