Background:

  • Retroperitoneoscopy is an established surgical technique for renal procedures.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of retroperitoneoscopic pyeloplasty for UPJ obstruction.

  • A retroperitoneoscopic pyeloplasty was performed on 24 patients (14 female, 10 male).
  • Standard retroperitoneoscopic techniques were employed with patients in a flank position.
  • Anderson-Hynes or Fenger pyeloplasty was utilized, with a double-J stent placed in all cases.

  • The average operative time was 189 minutes, with an average blood loss of 110 mL.
