Background:

  • Heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) is an emerging treatment for colon adenocarcinoma.
  • Detailed perfusion circuitry and techniques for HIPEC are not well-documented.

Observation:

  • A custom-designed perfusion circuit was developed in consultation with surgical services.
  • Institutional approval and informed consent were obtained for a 58-year-old female patient.
  • The procedure involved surgical debulking, right hemicolectomy, and HIPEC administration.

Findings:

  • A modified custom circuit with a roller pump was utilized, priming with Dianeal PD-2 to achieve 41°C.
