The IMI National Guidelines have been prepared as baseline guides on specific aspects of medical illustration practice, and provide auditable standards for the future. They can be implemented in full, or may be amended according to individual requirements. The following, which is the first in the series to be published in this journal, is an abridged version of guidelines prepared by Marie Jones.
