Summary

Women with multiple previous caesarean sections (C/S) face higher risks of adhesions and uterine wound separation during repeat C/S. However, maternal and fetal outcomes remain comparable to those with a single prior C/S.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate obstetric outcomes in patients with two or more prior caesarean sections (C/S) undergoing a repeat C/S.
  • To compare outcomes between patients with multiple prior C/S and those with a single prior C/S.

  • Retrospective case note review of 602 women undergoing repeat C/S.
  • Comparison of outcomes between women with two or more prior C/S and those with one prior C/S.
