Summary

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) amplification is a significant predictor of survival in elderly glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) patients over 75. Despite poor overall survival, EGFR amplification correlated with longer survival times in this age group.

  • To determine the prognostic significance of these markers in an elderly GBM cohort.

  • Retrospective analysis of 20 GBM patients (aged 75-87 years).
  • Immunohistochemistry used to assess MIB-1 labeling index (cell proliferation marker).
