Abstract:
Renal papillae can be seen ultrasonographically in acute dilatation of the urinary tract as echogenic formations within the ecstatic calices. The foregoing, however, must be distinguished from radiotransparent lithiasis, urothelial neoformation or solid infectious detritus. Occasionally, making the differential diagnosis may entail some difficulty.
