The Children's Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (CY-BOCS) total score may inaccurately assess obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) symptom severity. A revised model focusing on severity and disturbance factors is recommended for better illness assessment in children and adolescents.
