Background:

  • A high level of interpersonal dependency (IPD) is frequently observed in individuals who attempt suicide.

  • A case-control study involving 63 suicide attempters and 63 matched non-attempter controls.
  • Participants completed the Beck Depression Inventory and the Interpersonal Dependency Inventory (IDI).
  • Analysis of covariance was used to control for depression levels.
