Summary

Total hip replacement (THR) successfully managed severe hip dysplasia in a German shepherd. The canine modular THR system restored normal gait and function within two months, with no complications observed.

  • Radiographic evaluation confirmed right coxofemoral joint dysplasia with subluxation.

Findings:

  • Surgical intervention using the Modular Biolox Canine Modular Total Hip Replacement (THR) system was performed.
  • The dog regained weight-bearing ability and gradually returned to normal exercise patterns within two months post-surgery.
  • A six-month follow-up revealed satisfactory clinical function and no observed complications.
