Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the utility of lateral cephalometric radiography in determining VD, OP, and occlusal rim size for edentulous patients.
  • To compare hard and soft tissue measurements derived from cephalograms with established methods for full denture prescription.

  • Lateral X-rays were taken of 10 edentulous patients (age 53-81) with and without dentures.
  • Cephalograms were analyzed using Rickets, McNamara, and Legan-Burstone analyses to measure skeletal and soft tissue landmarks, planes, and angles.
