Nurturing the seeds of learning: a professional development initiative for hospital-based nurse educators

This article describes a collaborative initiative between two healthcare organizations to promote professional development of nurse educators from hospitals in neighboring regions. Information collected from a needs survey and a preregistration questionnaire was used to develop didactic and interactive sessions of a 1-day conference. Several brainstorming sessions were utilized to engage participants and to facilitate networking. Participants responded positively to this professional development conference in meeting their learning needs.
