Summary

Older drivers often overestimate their driving abilities, with higher self-ratings linked to increased risk of unsafe driving. Cognitive ability did not influence this self-perception in driving evaluations.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate if elderly drivers' self-perception of their driving evaluation performance varies by skill level.
  • To determine the association between self-rated driving performance and cognitive ability in older drivers.
