Abstract:
Abuse within families happens far more often than most people would be prepared to acknowledge, and can take many forms. Action has been taken by government to address issues of child abuse and domestic violence, but abuse of older people has until recently been neglected. In this article, the CDNA's elder abuse specialist discusses why this is so, and how to identify abuse of older people when it happens.
