Purpose Of Review:
Laparoscopy has become the standard approach for the surgical management of a variety of benign gynecological conditions. Numerous studies have reported their findings on the laparoscopic approach for the treatment of patients with endometrial cancer. It is timely and relevant to provide a review of these findings.
Recent Findings:
Comparison analysis of recurrence and survival rates for patients treated by laparoscopy and laparotomy have found similar results. A similar or reduced cost is noted for the laparoscopic approach. Numerous patient advantages are indicated for the laparoscopic approach. This information is detailed in this review.
Summary:
The open abdominal approach is an alternative to laparoscopy for the surgical treatment of patients with early endometrial cancer.
